Recent Events at Mearns View

There have been lots of exciting events and activities going on at Mearns View Care Home. We have been involving residents in our interview panel for new recruits. We encourage our residents to be involved in the running of the care home and to be involved in selecting potential staff.

Our lovely Ethel interviewed a potential nurse and was extremely satisfied, she happily recommended her for the post.

Residents selecting potential staff

Empowering residents to actively participate in the management and decision-making processes holds significance in fostering a person-centered and inclusive environment at our care home in Newton Mearns. By involving residents in important matters, we not only recognise and respect their personal preferences but also enhance their sense of ownership and belonging within the home.

Allowing residents to share their insights and perspectives during staff interviews ensures that those who will be caring for them resonate with their expectations and needs, resulting in effective care.

Andree, a resident who moved into Mearns View last week, was supporting Cat, our Receptionist who was over the moon to be able to help where possible as Andree feels fulfilled helping others. It's been wonderful to see Andree settle in so quickly and her enthusiasm in wanting to help around the home.

Residents selecting potential staff

Our Deputy Manager Ana got married on 3rd August. Staff, residents and their families had an afternoon tea to celebrate the occasion and her last day as a "Miss" at work.

We look forward to seeing what residents get up to in the upcoming months at Mearns View Care Home. For more information on our care services or facilities, get in touch with the friendly team today who will be delighted to help you.
