Terry Blackwood

Terry BlackwoodHome ManagerTerry is the appointed Home Manager for Mearns View and brings a wealth of experience having started in the care sector as a Care Assistant then having progressed having gained his BSc Mental Health Nursing. He has held previous roles of Unit Manager, Deputy Manager and more recently a Home Manager in the local area. Terry has a genuine passion for the nursing profession and caring for others and working in the care in his own words is a great privilege and allows me to support others achieve their own personal goals by helping them live a life that is full and not dominated by diagnosis.
Ana Heron
Deputy Manager
Ana HeronDeputy ManagerAna is the Deputy Manager at Mearns View Care Home. For the past 15 years, Ana has been working in the healthcare sector. Following her Accountancy degree, Ana worked as an Accountant in Barcelona before moving back to Portugal to look after a close family member. Ana’s interest in Nursing developed then and she decided to go back to university and qualify as a Nurse. Ana graduated as a Nurse in Lisbon and worked for a private care home in Portugal for 8 years before moving to Edinburgh in 2016 where she worked as progressed to a Deputy Manager position. Ana moved to Glasgow in 2022 and is excited to join the team at Mearns View.
Toni
Administrator
ToniAdministratorToni has joined the team as our Administrator and brings with her a wealth of experience in this field. Toni is looking forward to getting to know all of our residents and their families. In her spare time, Toni enjoys spending time with her family and walking her dog Ben.
Lewis
Head Chef
LewisHead ChefLewis has been appointed as our Head Chef. Lewis has worked in the catering industry for over 30 years in Scotland. Lewis has worked in various hotels, restaurants, production kitchens and care homes. Lewis loves to cook, especially comfort food with good produce. Lewis lives local to the care home and when he isn’t standing over the hot cooker, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and watching sports.
Lewis is looking forward to working at Mearns View and being able to provide out future residents with some delicious meals.
Linda Beedham
Cook
Linda BeedhamCookLinda has been a cook for 30 years. This is Linda’s second time working in a care home but she thoroughly enjoys this. In the past, Linda ran a gold hotel, and microbrewery and was a mobile chef. In her spare time, Linda enjoys horse riding and cooking for her family. Linda also spends her time cooking for the homeless.
Jane
Registered Nurse
JaneRegistered NurseJane is employed as a registered nurse at Mearns View. Jane has been a nurse for 26 years and is dual-trained (Adult and Mental Health Nursing). Jane knew from a young age that she wanted to be a nurse as her gran was a mental health nurse and she loved to listen to the stories she told. Jane’s main passion is delivering exceptional dementia care and palliative care. In her spare time, Jane enjoys walking her dogs, hillwalking with her partner, gardening, cooking, and baking. Jane is also trained in martial arts.

BarbaraRegistered NurseBarbara has been a nurse for several years and has lots of care home experience. Barbara has worked at Mearns View since it opened in May. Barbara enjoys spending time with her family on her days off and going for meals. Barbara also enjoys reading and relaxing with her cat, Katie.

AdelaNurseAdela has worked at Mearns View since opening. Adela has always wanted to be a nurse to fulfil the desire to help others, she graduated in August 2022.
In her spare time, Adela enjoys walking, reading, spending time with friends, family and watching medical documentaries.

Ilze
Housekeeping Supervisor
IlzeHousekeeping SupervisorIlze is orginially from Latvia. When Ilze lived in Latvia, she completed a university degree in economics and worked as a project manager. After this, Ilze moved to Scotland where she started working as a Housekeeper for various companies. Most recently, Ilze has been working in the care home sector as a head housekeeper. Ize loves working in the care sector as she loves being able to use her skills and knowledge to help people.

Paul stated that his number one passion when working in care is the residents and this is demonstrated by Paul as he enjoys spending time with the residents and getting them involved in tasks around the home.

DoreenHairdresserMeet Doreen our in-house hairdresser. Doreen has many years of experience in the industry and will be available 3 days per week for residents to receive excellent service for their hairdressing needs.
Cat
Receptionist
CatReceptionistCatriona, known as Cat, has been appointed as our receptionist. Since leaving school, Cat has worked in an office support role and for the last seven years, Cat has worked in a care home setting working in the office and reception area.
Cat lives local to the care home and has two sons, aged 21 and 16 years of age. In her spare time, Cat enjoys socialising with friends and family, enjoying nice food and wine together. In addition to this, Cat likes to take advantage of spending time at the family cottage, which is situated in Strontian, Argyll. While at the cottage, Cat likes to take in beautiful scenery and relax by the fire whilst enjoying a G&T.
