We had another lovely visit this morning from Anne and her wonderful therapet dog, Jack. He brought so many smiles to our faces and is always ready for cuddles and a fuss. Jack showed us some of his clever tricks, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you to Anne and Jack, for sharing your time with us and we can’t wait to see you both again for another uplifting visit soon!

Therapets like Jack, bring a special kind of comfort and connection to care home visits. Their presence can lift spirits, reduce stress, and create moments of genuine happiness for residents. Many people in care settings find it easier to relax and express themselves around animals, which helps ease feelings of loneliness or anxiety. For residents living with dementia, the simple act of stroking a gentle dog or watching a therapet at play can awaken precious memories, evoke laughter, and create moments of connection that bring comfort, familiarity and a sense of peace.

These visits don’t just brighten the atmosphere, they also provide emotional and social benefits that support residents’ wellbeing. Therapets encourage engagement and help build a sense of community within the home, offering companionship without judgement. For residents across all types of care, the quiet presence of a gentle animal offers reassurance and understanding that words can’t always provide. These visits bring a calm, familiar warmth that lingers long after — small moments of connection that truly lift spirits and nurture a deeper sense of wellbeing.
