TAPFIT Fun at Mearns View Care Home

TAPFIT

There’s never a dull moment at Mearns View Care Home in Newton Mearns, especially when the music starts and everyone’s ready to move. Recently, residents and staff had a fantastic time taking part in an energetic TAPFIT session led by the wonderful Rachel, whose enthusiasm and positivity made the day one to remember.

The room was filled with laughter, music, and movement as residents tapped, clapped, and danced along to lively tunes. Hats on and smiles all around, it was impossible not to get caught up in the fun. Even our team members couldn’t resist joining in, adding to the cheerful atmosphere and sense of togetherness that filled the room.

TAPFIT combines music, rhythm, and movement to help people stay active in an enjoyable and accessible way. Rachel guided everyone through gentle exercises and dance routines that encouraged movement while being perfectly suited to all abilities. The session was designed to boost both physical health and mood, and it certainly succeeded, leaving everyone feeling energised and uplifted.

Residents commented on how much they enjoyed the class, with many saying how wonderful it was to move to the music and share the experience with friends. It was a great reminder that exercise doesn’t have to feel like a workout - it can be a source of joy, laughter, and connection.

At Mearns View Care Home, we’re passionate about providing activities that support the health and happiness of everyone who lives with us. Sessions like TAPFIT are a fantastic way to keep both body and mind active, while also creating opportunities for social interaction and plenty of fun.

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to Rachel from TAPFIT for bringing so much energy and excitement to our home. It was a day filled with music, movement, and smiles, and we’re already looking forward to her next visit.
