Residents Celebrate Language Learning Milestone at Mearns View!

At Mearns View, we’re celebrating a brilliant achievement - several of our residents have completed the Lingo Flamingo language course and have been awarded certificates for all their hard work!

The 10-week course gave our residents the chance to dive into a new language, with lessons that were as engaging as they were educational. Each week brought something new, from learning everyday greetings to expanding vocabulary, and the joy in the room was clear to see. Laughter, curiosity, and focus filled the sessions as everyone gave it their all.

We introduced the Lingo Flamingo course as a way to keep minds active, encourage social interaction, and offer something a little bit different. Learning a new language isn’t just great for cognitive stimulation, it also gives a real sense of purpose. Watching our residents grow in confidence and take pride in their progress was incredibly rewarding for the whole team.

There was a buzz around the home each week as residents eagerly looked forward to their next session. The lessons weren’t just about language; they were also about connection, culture, and community. The room would often be filled with stories, questions, and plenty of encouragement between residents, creating a lovely shared experience.

Now, with their certificates proudly in hand, our residents have something tangible to show for all their hard work. The entire team at Mearns View couldn’t be prouder. It’s been such a joy to see everyone thrive - and we’re already looking forward to the next adventure!
