Palliative Care

At our care home in Newton Mearns, we have created a palliative care service that supports residents who are in need of palliative care as well as providing support to their families during this difficult and emotional time.

Our dedicated team of care professionals goes above and beyond to support residents during this time by making sure they are comfortable and well-supported during their stay.

What is Palliative Care?

Palliative care, also referred to as end-of-life care, is a type of care provided to individuals who are in the final stages of their life, due to natural deterioration with old age or more complex terminal illnesses and diseases.

The main objective of palliative care is to ensure that the individuals receiving this type of care are comfortable, with a focus on reducing their pain and other symptoms as well as maintaining their dignity, and fulfilling their wishes. Care staff also extend their hand to loved ones during this difficult time.
